@Hoff Lately I have a positive kill-to-death ratio in most games that I play. But, I do think that I need to switch guns here-and-there to meet some of the challenges. I agree with you that guns do not make a difference with the exception of heat scopes and sticky grenades. For my style of play, both would help a lot. Every time that I pick a heat scope up I get a pretty good kill streak going.

@Eric I don't like to run around a whole lot because everyone is faster than me. I seem to get knifed in the back a lot when that happens. If I was higher ranked and had some speed perks, I think I would run around a bit more.

I agree with Hoff who is evidentially a stud at this game with the 43 ranking. I think my game log shows a similar amount played. I love to run and gun so I die a lot though....lol. I have been using the same gun for at least the last 20 or 25 levels but I did just switch to a different assault rifle since I had a majority of the challenges completed for it. The attachments and comfort with its shooting style is probably a bigger deal. I need to stick with a perk to get the big 10,000 point challenges. I have 5 or 6 perks where I am on the last leg of the challenge but switched to unlock the last leg in other perks.

These so -called rankings are not rankings at all. You simply build up experience points to move to a higher level; It's a role playing game system, and I prefer Halo's merit based system. Your ranking doesn't really describe your skill at all. Although... the experience point system is what makes games so addicting. If you want to level up quickly, the key is completing the challenges. I've gotten to level 43 after "only" about 26 hours of gameplay by completing challenges with multiple weapons and paying attention to killstreak rewards. I think Matt's got that amount of time logged playing "I MAED A GAM3 W1TH Z0MB1ES 1N IT!!!"

Also, the guns and perks that are awarded at higher levels are not really any better than the guns awarded in the early levels, so it's not much of a disadvantage playing against players on a higher level. Their main advantage is knowing the maps and the best places to hide or set up an ambush.

Just play for another week or two and I'm sure you'll be able to get a kill/death ratio above 1 every game.

@Eric You are going to have to stop by the mattic and show me what is going on. I think I have been doing pretty well with the challenges, but not exactly sure how to figure out what to do next.

I totally agree with your observation. This style of ranking and level ups makes so much more sense to me. I never really got into Halo but am loving MW2.

The thing that would help a casual player out would be to explain the challenges better. I believe the manual does nothing to this effect. It is really easy to jump levels (especially in the beginning) if you understand all the gun, equipment, and perk challenges.

Also you can always pick up a dead person's gun. The copycat death streak allows you to take a person's gun which tries to give you somewhat of an advantage.

Getting new guns and perks is what makes the game addicting to me. I am constantly switching between guns and perks based on the level and game play style for each map.
